This beloved annual liturgy of music and pageantry celebrates the beginning of Advent—the season of longing, vigilance, and expectation in preparation for Christmas. Sung by the Cathedral Choir, The Compline Choir, and Senior Choristers of Saint Mark’s Choir School. Offered at 7:00pm on Sunday, December 1st.

Join Anne Rogers and other ladies of SJB for an unofficial annual tradition of making the trip to Capitol Hill for dinner and the O Antiphon Advent Procession with Lessons and Carols at St. Mark's Cathedral.

  • Carpooling Please consider that it will be night driving and possibly bad weather.  If you are able to drive or need a ride, please either let Anne Rogers know or feel free to put a group together.  Groups will carpool to the restaurant, carpool to the cathedral, and then carpool home.
  • 4:30 Meet at Herb & Bitter Public House:  516 Broadway East, Capitol Hill  https://www.herbandbitter.com/  Separate tabs.  Depending on the size of our group, it’s possible to reserve a large area in the back, but I will wait to see if we need this.  By starting so early, the restaurant is not very busy.
  • O Antiphon service  https://saintmarks.org/calendar/o-antiphons-advent-liturgy/ starts at 7 pm and the cathedral will be full.  It’s important to get there early, target 6:30 arrival or shortly after to get good seats.
  • This is an inclusive event!  Men are welcome, and feel free to invite others.

Email Anne Rogers with any questions or for more information!
