Emerald City Wanderers

Once again the SJB community will host the New Year's Eve and Day walks staged by the Emerald City Wanderers Walking Club.

Everyone is welcome to take part in these walks, which start in the SJB Parish Hall.  There will be a different 5k and 10k route offered each day of the event and there will be a variety of hot soups, snacks, and beverages offered in the Parish Hall for all participants (and well-wishers).

On New Years Eve walkers can register and start their walk anytime between 4pm and 7pm.

On New Years Day walkers can register and start their walk anytime between 9am and 12pm.

The New Year's Eve walking routes tour the lights of West Seattle and views of the Waterfront.  The New Year's Eve 5k route will walk to the junction and back on a mostly level path.  The New Year's Eve 10k route will traverse the Charlsetown Hill down to Alki Beach, walk the waterfront to the Duwamish Head, and then walk back to SJB via California Ave Sw.

The New Year's Day 5k route will walk to the Hamilton viewpoint via Palm Ave and back to SJB via Sunset and California Ave on a fairly level route.  New Year's Day 10k route will travel fown to Puget Sound via Jacobsen Road, walk to the Alki Lighthouse, and return to SJB via the Schmitz Park Trails or Admiral Way.

SJB Members are invited to join the Emerald City Wanderers fora walk and/or for fellowship and refreshments.  This is an annual event hosted by SJB and the Wanderers would love to meet parishioners!
