Join in the Day of Prayer on May 10

As part of the Building Our Legacy of Hope campaign, St. John's will host a Day of Prayer on Saturday, May 10, 2025 -- not only to pray for the mission and ministry of our church, but also to pray for YOUR individual prayer requests.

Inspired by the Benedictine Monastic Hours, our Day of Prayer will include psalms, readings, hymns, and special hourly prayers, as well as opportunities to pray using Anglican prayer beads and walking the labyrinth.

The day begins at 9:00 a.m., when all are invited to attend the opening Eucharist. The day concludes with a 5:00 p.m. Vespers service.

Please sign up in the narthex to pray for one hour or more, and feel free to fill out a prayer request card and place it into the marked box.

For more information, please contact Carol Long.

Advance Commitments Reception

On Saturday afternoon, May 31, we are hosting an Advance Commitments Reception for the purpose of receiving early financial pledges to the Building Our Legacy of Hope campaign. Anyone who would like to make an early, inspirational commitment to our campaign is welcome to participate.

Please contact Layne Bautista, rickandlayne@gmail.com or phone 206-579-1610, if you would like to be included in this process. Thank you!

Our faithful commitment to the current and future needs of our church has led our congregation to launch a capital stewardship campaign this spring. “Building Our Legacy of Hope” will raise financial support for key initiatives that will strengthen and amplify the mission of SJB now and for years to come.

Our projects include repairing our roof (including installing solar panels), replacing our organ, and a series of other necessary items new window blinds in the Parish Hall, upgraded lighting in the Nave, new signage, improved handicapped accessibility, and enhanced security.

But our campaign is about much more than accomplishing these projects. It is an opportunity for us to live into who we are as God’s people at SJB; and to further invest in a place we hold dear, so that others may know the love of God for generations to come.

Be on the lookout for ways to get involved! Coming soon are new faith formation opportunities as well as Legacy Gatherings in our homes, so we can get to know each other better and ask questions about Building Our Legacy of Hope.
