The practice of service transforms us as we offer our time and energy to benefit others in need or for the purpose of the common good. The St. John the Baptist Service and Outreach Team was formed in October 2018. The ministries that currently fall under the Outreach umbrella include the Arts & Crafts Co-Op, Books & Bricks Global, The Lord’s Table, local food banks, the White Center Welcome Meal, the Church Council of Greater Seattle, and our involvement with WIN (West Seattle Interfaith Network).
As we look toward the future, we would like to also focus on The Episcopal Church’s Creation Care Pledge, and look for ways that St. John’s can participate in helping to address the challenges of climate change and environmental issues, here in our own building and community. We are looking for people who are interested in this and who might consider joining these efforts. We currently meet monthly on the 2nd Sunday of each month, following the 10:15 service.
