The Path: A Journey Through the Bible
Chapter Eighteen: Proclaiming the Good News of the Kingdom
This chapter is about the miracles that Jesus performed. It covers stories from all four gospels. It includes miracles from the healing of the paralytic, the feeding the 5,000, to the raising of Lazarus. These stories challenge us to answer the question “Is belief necessary for miracles or do miracles lead to belief?” Or maybe somehow both are true at the same time? This chapter also raises the question of who Jesus is. In this chapter Jesus tells us, ”Do not fear, only believe” and that “He is the light of the World and sent by the Father.” This week we explore more about miracles and who Jesus is so bring your thoughts and questions. If you want to explore in more depth, read John 1-12. And consider how do belief and miracles interact? How are Jesus’ discourses related to the miracles?
