Sunday, August 25, 9:15-10:00 am, Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, with Julia Wight
In this session Catechesis of the Good Shepherd lead teacher Julia Wight will explore the importance of the exercises of practical life involving care of the person and care of the environment. Learn how these exercises allow the children to become independent, leading to a reverence and dignity about themselves and their environment in the Atrium or classroom. She will also give some demonstrations.
Julia Wight has a Master’s Degree in Education, and has undergone Montessori training for children 2 ½ to 12, and Catechesis of the Good Shepherd training. Over the years she has been a Montessori teacher, administrator, lecturer and consultant. She has been a member of SJB since 1998 and recently completed Education for Ministry (EfM), a four-year course that covers the Hebrew Scriptures, New Testament, Church History, and Theology.
