Looking for Deeper Conversations About Race?
If you are hungry for deeper conversations about racial reconciliation, please join us for a brand new Sacred Ground circle beginning Sunday, November 6.
Sacred Ground is a film and readings-based dialogue series on race, grounded in faith. This program will be held on in the parish hall on various Sundays from 2:00-4:00 pm. Sacred Ground circles are invited to walk through chapters of America’s history of race and racism, while weaving in threads of family story, economic class, and political and regional identity.
The 11-part series is built around a powerful online curriculum of documentary films and readings that focus on Indigenous, Black, Latinx, and Asian/Pacific American histories as they intersect with European American histories.
Participants are invited to peel away the layers that have contributed to the challenges and divides of the present day -- all while grounded in our call to faith, hope, and love.
You can find out more about Sacred Ground here: https://www.episcopalchurch.org/sacred-ground/ particularly the videos from Sacred Ground Developer Katrina Browne and Presiding Bishop Michael Curry, in addition to the message from the Rev. Canon Stephanie Spellers. You may also be interested in the video developed by the Union of Black Episcopalians (UBE), ‘We Bless You’ found here: We Bless You
