To the wonderful people of St. John the Baptist,
What a joy it is to get to greet you! I am so excited about joining you as your next priest. When I visited in April, I was able to hear from your excellent vestry about the faithful mission and ministry you all have been doing in the Lord’s Lunch, in connecting with the people in need in West Seattle through the little pantry, as well as the authentic discernment you have been doing in relating to God through scripture study, your connection with younger members through faithful Christian formation, and how you have navigated a time of transition in a pandemic with continued but safe worship, I am so eager to begin serving with you! I also offer a profound word of thanks for Alison Estep, Dan Johnson, Cate Lee and all of your incredibly gifted vestry, as well as thanks to Canon Arienne Davison and Bishop Greg Rickel for their guidance and leadership. SJB and the Diocese of Olympia has some great leaders and I’m thrilled to be serving with you all!
I look forward to meeting each of you, hearing your story, and learning more about you. I look forward to us living into being the Body of Christ together. My spouse, Ryan, and our son, Walter are so happy to be joining you in August. Until then, I remain, yours,
