Rector's Reflections

There is good news and we need to keep those pledges coming! As of December 18, we have received 97 pledges for a total of $271,688.00 in pledged income for 2020. That is wonderful!

The vestry approved the 2020 Budget at their meeting on Monday, December 9. This budget is one of abundance and optimism. This is a budget which believes in our growth and invests in spreading the Kingdom of God right here in West Seattle. The total expenses for this budget are: $371,200.00. The total income (which includes pledged income plus grants, rental, investment, and other unplugged income) is: $338,618.00. For those of you who haven't done the math yet, that leaves us with projected deficit of $28,264.00.

The vestry spent a lot of time discussing this and feels optimistic about the future of this congregation. We are moving into a year that anticipates transition and change as well as continued growth. The vestry approved this deficit budget with plans to revise the budget mid-year if necessary. We are hopeful and you should be too. God is doing wonderful things in our midst and for that we are thankful.
