Act Locally: Help those in need
Every Saturday, 12-2 PM, a group of people from West Seattle churches serve “a meal/a smile/and donations” in White Center. This all happens in the parking lot on south side of Bartells at SW Roxbury & 15 Ave SW. More helpers are needed. The homeless folks receiving are in so much need and your presence and donations make a world of difference to them. All donations are appreciated. Simply come if you want to help or donate, and you don’t have to stay the entire time. Set-up begins 11:30 am. Most needed right now are men’s pants, warm tops, or even t-shirts. Imagine being homeless during our wet winters. Having wet feet is a big problem, so dry shoes and socks are needed. If you have old shoes you’re not wearing, please consider passing them on to someone who needs them. Also, see if you have extra water-resistant or waterproof coats and jackets you could donate. Please speak to Sharon Parker if you have questions about this opportunity to serve others. Thank you!
